“Collaboration Increases Return on Investment and Elevates Legal Aid’s Mission,” MIE Journal

Chief Executive Officer Jeffery Harvey, Esq. and Attorney Executive Director of The Legal Aid Society Bethanie Barber authored an article for the MIE Journal that highlights how collaboration across legal services provides better resources and opportunities for both programs and the communities they serve. The article explains the impact collaboration has when legal services join forces and utilize the skills of both programs to effectively maximize a common goal of improving society.

“The Legal Aid Society and CLS both want to serve clients. Our teams focus on the work and how to get it done. We share resources, and both organizations benefit from that,” explains Harvey and Barber. “Through honest communication, trust and continual revision, collaborations between legal aid organizations — even those with overlapping areas of responsibility — yield benefits that reinforce our mission and provide better outcomes for citizens who cannot afford legal representation.”

Harvey and Barber concluded by sharing that CLS and The Legal Aid Society’s collaboration elevates operational effectiveness, increases return on investment, amplifies funding and grants, doubles resources, and provides more counsel and legal sources to the community.
