Community Legal Services (CLS) Chief Financial Officer Teri Kozub was featured on The Diary of a CFO Podcast sharing her journey of leadership through discussions about the roles she has held throughout her career and the challenges and rewards each have posed. Kozub’s current role in the nonprofit sector presents its own challenges, however, her experiences in CFO roles, roles overseeing IT and roles overseeing risk have shaped her unique approach to leadership and financial strategy.
“Being a CFO isn’t just about the numbers; it’s about being at the table, making decisions that move the organization forward,” she explained.
Kozub also shared insight on building strong teams, managing uncertainty and the importance of cultivating a sustainable financial future through endowments.
“You need to trust your team and allow them to do their jobs. That’s how you build strong, effective leadership,” said Kozub.
